Amateur Golfers of the County Unions of Cambridgeshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, Shropshire & Herefordshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, and Worcestershire with a handicap of 9 or under may compete.

The Championship will be 18 holes medal play, and the player(s) with the best gross score will be the Champion. There will be group prizes (gross) for Age Groups 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, and 55 and over.

The entry fee is £35.00.

The closing date for entry forms is 'first post' Saturday 13th August 2011. Online entries still open.

In the event of a player having to scratch after the closing date, the entry fee will not be refunded.

 PRACTICE

The club has kindly agreed to allow the competitors a practice round prior to the championship by arrangement with the Professional shop in the week prior to the event at the discounted rate of £10.

Course planners are available from the Professional. Cost  £3.00.

 REGISTRATION

The MGU desk will be situated by the patio doors in the bar/lounge area.

 CATERING

Bacon rolls and coffee etc will be available from 09.00am on a cash sale basis.

A two course buffet with coffee is included in the entrance fee for all competitors. A meal ticket will be issued to every competitor when returning his scorecard to the MGU desk, if any additional meals are required for caddies, wives etc tickets should be purchased from the MGU desk on registration.

 DRESS

Clubhouse:  Smart casual.

Course:  Normal golfing attire, knee length or plain white sport socks ( NOT trainer socks ) may be worn if wearing tailored shorts.

 SAFETY AND SECURITY

Procedure for suspension of play for any reason will be issued with the scorecard.

Please be vigilant with security of your golf equipment and your personal effects as neither Worksop Golf Club nor the Midland Golf Union Ltd can accept any responsibility for theft or accident. Competitors are strongly advised to have their own insurance cover.

 DMD’s

Only DMD’s that calculate distance are permitted.  Those providing other information such as wind speed, elevation, temperature etc are NOT permitted. If, during a ‘stipulated round’ a player fails to comply with these conditions, the player is in breach of Rule 14.3 for which the penalty is disqualification.
