Midland Golf Union
New for 2019
There are some new additions for 2019 approved by the Midland Golf Union Executive Committee. There are some additional points available within the Midland Order of merit along with Junior and Senior Order of Merit points. There also changes to the exemptions into Midland Events and the exemptions into England Golf events continue.
New for 2019:
The Midland Open Amateur Championship is now a Midland Order of Merit event with 150% points value available. Top 15 places will receive Order of Merit Points from 225 points for the Open Champion down to 15 points for 15th place. Top three places in each county championship will receive Midland Order of Merit Points.
Each County Amateur Champion will gain a handicap exemption into the Midland Open Amateur Championship and all ten county champions will compete for a Midland County Champion title within the Midland Open event.
The top 3 places (gross) in each of the 10 County Amateur Championships will receive Midland Order of Merit Points.
The top 3 places (gross) in each of the 10 County Senior Amateur Championships will receive Midland Order of Merit Points.
The top 3 places (gross) in each of the 10 County Junior Amateur Championships will receive Midland Order of Merit Points.
Exemptions:
Midland Closed: The Midland Closed Amateur Champion will gain a free entry into the Midland Open Amateur Championship. Second and third place will gain a handicap exemption into the Midland Open.
Midland Boys Amateur Championship: Boys Amateur Champion gains handicap exemption into the England Golf Carris Trophy.
EG Boys County Championship (Midland Qualifying): The leading individual 36-hole score will gain a handicap exemption into the England Golf Carris Trophy.
EG Men’s County Championship (Midland Qualifying): The leading individual 36-hole score will gain a handicap exemption into the England Golf Brabazon Trophy.
Midland U16 Boys Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship: Top three places will gain a handicap exemption into the England Golf McGregor Trophy.
Midland U16 Girls Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship: Top three places will gain a handicap exemption into the England Golf Girls U16 Stroke Play Championship.
Midland Mid-Amateur Open Championship: The Midland Mid-Amateur Open Champion gains handicap exemption into the England Golf Logan Trophy.
